Now that you mention it, there was a mid 80s producer named Mantronix and he was on Sleeping Bag Records
He's the father of DJ Paul & Juicy J's style. His most notable work is:

His best work is the first Mantronix album, the first Just Ice album, and the first TLA ROCK album.

Also, his record label, Fresh/Sleeping Bag put out a Greatest Hits compilation. There's a volume 1 and a volume 2. Volume 2 has a few songs by TLA Rock that are produced by Mantronix that aren't on any other albums.
