smh the last thing we need is white ppl colonizing space

Yeah, people should be a lot more disturbed by the big space push being headed by a bunch of rich white dudes. That will more than likely turn out bad in a variety of ways.

Though, I get that its hard to put much thought into future bullshit in space with all the current bullshit we have right here on Earth.

I agree with the premise of the thread but isn’t Richard Branson British?
Yes

The premise is how America stays focusing on the wrong shit

American media's focus on sensationalizing Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos' billionaire asses playing astronaut games is the big story right now, while millions of Americans are facing eviction.

Meanwhile, we have a crazy ass mutant virus ravaging our country while our government continues to politicize it, lie about it & phuck up any chance of getting it under control, our health care system is shitty af, the wealth gap continues to widen at an astounding pace, our police departments are murdering Black people with impunity, we have whole ass TENT CITIES IN PHUCKING AMERICA because even tho people break their phucking backs working for shit pay, they can't afford to rent or buy a home...*takes a deep breath*

But yeah, Richard Branson is British

Meh, the government should have handled the evictions, right? Socialism and all that malarkey.

Let them two get into space. Fuck it. We've scaled back on NASA's funding since the early 70's so if two muhfuckas with the means to do it wanna shoot themselves into space, so be it.

Meanwhile, our government should have done more to prevent this shit. If they can give me nearly 6 figures to keep my business going, they could have given the people that needed it money for their rent.

Now that I think about it... The government DID give a lot of people the money they needed. Remember when folks were gettin that extra $600 a week while on unemployment??? Them same muhfuckas posting pics of crab boils and new shit they bought with that money are now largely the same people being evicted. A lot of people that live around me whole standard of living was way up last year thanks to that extra loot. While my business was barely able to keep a roof over our heads I'm watching folks buy cars, clothes and shit. Same folks stopped paying rent for over a fuckin year, livin the good life, are now facing eviction now that the moratorium got lifted.

Scandalust313, your post is complete nonsense

You say,

1. "our health care system is shitty af"

That's nonsense. I've been in the hospital for two and a half months with Covid. I have medicaid because I'm poor, unemployed and diagnosed as mentally ill. The EMTs rushed me to the hospital and I was taken care of until I was good enough to come home. While I was in the hospital they gave me a bed to sleep in, a TV with remote control and the doctors and nurses took care of me when I could have died. The nurses gave me sponge baths every other day and I got to choose my own meals.

2. "we have whole ass TENT CITIES IN PHUCKING AMERICA because even tho people break their phucking backs working for shit pay, they can't afford to rent or buy a home."

I live in subsidized housing (the projects) and I collect SSI (Supplemental Security Insurance). I get about $800 per month plus food stamps (about $120 per month). One of the stipulations is that if you get caught selling drugs they kick you out and cut you off. There was a guy in my building that sold weed. He got arrested and went to jail for about a year. He got out, came back and went back to selling weed. I haven't seen him around in a few years. My guess is that he got caught again and they kicked him out and he's probably homeless.

When the government is helping you out, people don't like to see you selling drugs on the side and making money under the table. It's a waste of taxpayer money to give somebody a Section 8 apartment, SSI, Medicaid and food stamps that sells drugs and makes money under the table.

Homeless people aren't homeless because they are down on their luck. The government wouldn't let somebody fall through the cracks simply because they're down on their luck. The reason people are homeless is because they were receiving government assistance (Section 8, Medicaid, SSI and Food Stamps) and they got caught commenting a crime (i.e. selling drugs) and got cut off. That's not the government's fault. It's the individual's fault for selling drugs while they were receiving public assistance.

Hi...stfu

I'm not reading that b.s.

I've seen it myself. Small businesses getting decimated, big business is capitalizing off that hurt..and average Joe's gaming the system blowing the dough on liabilities instead of assets, not to mention the legal risks associated.

Who to blame? 🤷

Bruh, I waited 8 months for my EIDL to finally come through. During that time all but one of my clients closed their doors, and that one barely had any work for me though periodically I'd get some decent hours. I watched all these hood muhfuckas around here just blowing money, niggas grilling steak and shrimp and shit 4 days a week, walking up and down the block with whole ass bottles of Henny in their hand, and the dispensary down the block stayed with a line wrapped around the building. Cars got upgraded, clothes got upgraded, dumpsters around the complex always had TV boxes in 'em... These fools was out here living good.

Last week of May was different tho; that's when the governor started allowing evictions to get filed.

I got up one morning to go do some laundry and the majority of the cribs I walked past had 7 day notices on 'em. Same folks that "upgraded" their lives wasn't paying their rent and most of 'em are gone now.
