Watching this made me realize how short Martin Luther king was.
I wish it would've focused only on blacks considering it's black history month but with Will Smith narrating, I should've known he would play it safe and cover everything
I am watching this. 3rd episode in and I like it. I generally don't watch shit talking about slavery. To me it's all the same..white ppl did a whole bunch of fucked up in-humane shit. But I like the time line and the whole setup of how Information is being given.
It's definitely reinforcing my belief that white people are pure evil.. ugh the quotes of what was said and how white ppl really felt. No wonder we still in the state we in. That mentality of the 1700 and 1800s....is still very much alive in today's America.
This show and the way it unfolds really shows on a time line every thought humans had that was limiting. Like one groups quest for freedom unfolds how free" we actually aren't. How everyone's thought of free really meant something different along this time line
Protestants want freedom > North and South colonies want freedom> blacks, negros....all melainated ppl want freedom>women want freedom> non-white women want freedom > gas and lesbian want freedom.etc
One long chain of events of different people wanting freedom.... can that ever exist when trying to bring people together under one way of life? Who's way of life is choosen....?
