Especially R&B during the 80's. I remember that more than I did hiphop. Soooooooooo many classics. Songs so good, even til this day, you literally stop what you doing, and start jammin.
And the videos. They may have been low budget compared to videos today, but they've aged like fine wine.
There was so much good R&B music out, ya'll remember the Grammy's had multiple categories? Best solo male, Best solo female, Best male group, and Best female group. You actually looked forward to watching the music award shows like Soul Train for example.

The cartoons tho was top damn notch. Like Animaniacs. Lookin back at some of those episodes, I seriously can't believe they got away with some of the shyt they played. Lol.
Videos games man. SNES was the GOAT system imo. So many classics games. Plus I remember there was a plethora of game systems that came out. Sysyens that was WAAAAY ahead of their times like Sega CD and 3DO. Then you had the Sega Genesis and Turbo Graff 16 (shout out to Bonk).
But you wanna know what's so funny about those systems. Back this paying 300+ bucks for a system was unheard of. Kinda one of the reasons why 3DO went outta business. But nowadays, will pay double for the system and all of it accessories w/o batting an eye. Lol!

It was there, but not a major part of our lives yet.
