First off, this is my personal list. I remember when Rapper’s Delight dropped. I was six years old. I remember the 80s vividly and have been a Hip Hop head my entire life. In my opinion, the rap songs from the 80s had a bigger impact than modern rap songs simply because there was a lot of things that had never been done before.

So that’s my perception of modern Hip Hop. Those albums sound nothing like the Rap/Hip Hop from the 80s and 90s. Also, whenever somebody posts something in the Music Discussion thread I click the link to check it out so I have an idea what Future, Gucci Mane, Wiz Khalifa, Migos, Drake, Meek Mill, Travis Scott, Dave East, etc. sound like. Modern Hip Hop has ALOTmore sub-bass than what I grew up listening to.
