COMMUNITY 1st Annual ABW 6th Man of the Year award

Aight, trying to do something to one, help members find new music that they probably wouldnt have listened to otherwise, and two, bring more attention to the site via social media. There is just so much new music coming out, that it will be impossible to narrow it down to just one album so the hope is to narrow this down to ten albums (projects) and contact them via twitter, IG, etc...

Gon try to update this monthly to give people to fully digest music. Now, I'm going to start out with the ten projects that I personally have listened to and have enjoyed. The criteria is simple. This is meant to put a spotlight on projects from people that dont have the platform of the larger artists. They can be solo acts or groups. The awards will be given out at the end of the year.

This will work like power rankings so, as newer projects come out, they have the ability to surpass other albums. If an album is slated towards the top, that means i've found myself revisiting the albums several times after my initial listen.

you really just gon goat the OP and not read it?? lol

basically, which ones i personally find myself listening to over and over even after other projects have come out

for instance, Arian Foster project has been in heavy rotation. Maybe b/c its one of the latest to drop, but its a damn good album as well. As you start getting towards 10, I may have liked it, and still bump it from time to time, but ultimately, i may not listen to it as much as say the ones in the top 5

make no mistake about it, if the album is on the list, regardless of the order, i think its at least worth a listen

No two albums are alike imo which is why Edgewood, sounding vastly different from the rest, still has a spot on the list.

but for real, i was trying to avoid an unnecessary back and forth about which albums are better than others tbh.

Just trying to have 10 albums that by the end of the year, there can be a nice write up about each one to tell people to check out those projects if they missed them to put on the front page and tweet the link out to the artists.

Sorta like XXL freshmen

but im open to suggestions

after the initial batch of albums i posted, the more notable artists started dropping and i didnt get back to this.

I started listening to the album Goat recommended but it just kinda got lost in the shuffle
