Maybe the pet food will help slow or stop people from abandoning pets at shelters or in the street. Im sure it cost more to try and rehouse them or send people out to round them up.

I looked up the numbers.

The budget, which was officially approved at the end of June, allocates a total of $1.5 million for animal welfare. The funding is split evenly: [1, 2]
  • $750,000 for pet food pantries.
  • $750,000 for free and low-cost spay and neuter services.

Might be giving them some free food if they let them spay and neuter their pets. If thats the case im all for that

lol bruh stop it. I fuck wit Mamdani and I like the work dude is doing in the city. I dont gotta agree with every move he make tho nigga tf. It dont always gotta be all or nothing. In the long list of shit thats gotta be done in the city for people I personally think paying to feed peoples pets is low on the list 🤷🏽‍♂️

but sure.. lets compare feeding pets to curing cancer. foh lol
