i agree with most of this but like I mentioned, as much of a Rock guy that I was during that time to sit & act like Dwayne was undisputed the top guy is low key revisionist history. In 2000 it was All Rock. But when Austin came back and everything onward they were 1A / 1B.
If Austin accepts the Hogan match a lot of shit changes in 2002. Iâm not even knocking you cause I do agree with 96% of what youâre saying.
Nah, tried to be slick with the edit, but Iâm not gonna let shit slide. If youâre gonna say something, at least tag me.
A connoisseur is a highly knowledgeable person about a specific topic. I said that shit to be funny, but where is the lie?
Do you remember the actual statement that was even made to start this?
@BDPâ˘ď¸ said â
He not knocking off the #1 guy in the company on his first tryâ
Then Brock vs Rock was mentioned.
Then you tried saying Stone Cold was the top guy when it was The Rock at that time.
Then
@grYmes and
@PhenomTheMac both dropped actual facts.
I drop a couple threads on the subject and you admitted to misremembering.
Now youâre pivoting back, talking about it was a 1a, 1b situation when that was NOT the case.
Rock is champ. Stone Cold isnât even performing at SummerSlam.
Stone Cold loses at RR. The next month he still gets a title shot and then loses to Jericho AGAIN.
Now they got him in a meaningless fight with Scott Hall thatâs way at the bottom of the totem pole - it was like one of the first matches AND it was WRESTLEMANIA!
He then loses to Taker.
Then they have him fighting Ric Flair.
No match at KOTR.
Rock comes back and immediately beats Taker and Angle in a triple threat at Vengeance for the gold.
But what everyone is failing to mention is Rock beat Brock in his first title match which was a triple threat with Taker. That was their first match, so what
@BDPâ˘ď¸ said stands true.
Itâs not that they seen it as I see it, but it is exactly how it was.
Youâre holding onto 2020 and 2021 when weâre all telling you that Stone Cold was not the top guy.
The landscape changed severely after the Invasion storyline ended. WWE really did Austin dirty.
