WWE Night of Champions 🇸🇦 (6/27/26)

Added to Calendar: 06-27-26

Austin wasn’t past his prime and he left because he wasn’t feelin none of the creative as far back as when the NWO pulled up. They asked him to lose to Brock on a regular Monday night Raw instead of a PPV where they’d make more money and he bounced
Austin was shot. So much so that he literally came back and worked one match, which was putting over Rock and called it a career.

The whole "Oba tapped" should absolutely NOT be a thing. Clearly he was hyping himself up.

For them to have Jey use that as an excuse is weak. They don't need to run it back. If Jey does bring it up Monday...Roman needs to shut that shyt down. Then tell Jey he failed.

When Jade "tapped" to Shayna it was widely forgotten pretty quickly. Since this is a bigger setting they can simply run it back the same way Randy Orton & Gunther did in 2024 after the whole Randy shoulder situation which has been widely forgotten.
This is my thought. With Jey posting about it I can see them running it back. It be different if he didn’t, but since he did post about it, this might be the play. If it is the play, I hope no goofy shit comes from it.

Rock snatched that shit from him in 2000 (he had started in 99 before Austin even left, but that was far from "undisputed") so much so that Austin read the tea leaves and turned heel.

Hogan, Austin, Cena, Roman (when he finally did it), all took over when there was a void to be filled. Rock didnt have the same luxury. But make no mistake: Rock did surpass Austin, and was positioned accordingly.

After Austin's heel turn, Rock main evented Summerslam, went over Austin at Survivor Series, main evented Rumble, got the Hogan match at Mania, main evented at Summerslam with Brock-- who they wanted Austin to lose to on TV, and then finally Rock went over Austin at 19.
Love to see a fellow wrestling connoisseur get in their bag. All facts 💯

Oh shit you cracked the code. That makes too much sense. Brock snatches the title from Sami, so Oba challenges Brock and Seth challenges Roman.
I can see this happening. Gives Brock one last title and he enters his hometown with a championship before dropping to Oba and retiring. That leads to the possibility for Roman vs Oba at NOC.

Oba gets his championship.
Roman keeps his championship.
Fans get Oba vs Roman.

Everyone gets what they want.

i agree with most of this but like I mentioned, as much of a Rock guy that I was during that time to sit & act like Dwayne was undisputed the top guy is low key revisionist history. In 2000 it was All Rock. But when Austin came back and everything onward they were 1A / 1B.

If Austin accepts the Hogan match a lot of shit changes in 2002. I’m not even knocking you cause I do agree with 96% of what you’re saying.

Nah, tried to be slick with the edit, but I’m not gonna let shit slide. If you’re gonna say something, at least tag me.

A connoisseur is a highly knowledgeable person about a specific topic. I said that shit to be funny, but where is the lie?

Do you remember the actual statement that was even made to start this?

@BDP™️ said “He not knocking off the #1 guy in the company on his first try”

Then Brock vs Rock was mentioned.

Then you tried saying Stone Cold was the top guy when it was The Rock at that time.

Then @grYmes and @PhenomTheMac both dropped actual facts.

I drop a couple threads on the subject and you admitted to misremembering.

Now you’re pivoting back, talking about it was a 1a, 1b situation when that was NOT the case.

Rock is champ. Stone Cold isn’t even performing at SummerSlam.

Stone Cold loses at RR. The next month he still gets a title shot and then loses to Jericho AGAIN.

Now they got him in a meaningless fight with Scott Hall that’s way at the bottom of the totem pole - it was like one of the first matches AND it was WRESTLEMANIA!

He then loses to Taker.

Then they have him fighting Ric Flair.

No match at KOTR.

Rock comes back and immediately beats Taker and Angle in a triple threat at Vengeance for the gold.

But what everyone is failing to mention is Rock beat Brock in his first title match which was a triple threat with Taker. That was their first match, so what @BDP™️ said stands true.

It’s not that they seen it as I see it, but it is exactly how it was.

You’re holding onto 2020 and 2021 when we’re all telling you that Stone Cold was not the top guy.

The landscape changed severely after the Invasion storyline ended. WWE really did Austin dirty.

Nah I edited it out cause I was being petty and it’s too early to be petty. Furthermore I tagged you already in a previous post you swerved past to call niggas connoisseur for basically saying “1+1 is 2”

There was no pivot by the way:
@Blackmanta24

Ahh I'm getting my years confused. I'm mixing up Hollywood Rock's year with his and Austin's 2002 run my bad. I was a bigger Rock fan so to me Rock was the top babyface in 2002. But i could still see folks making a case for Austin cause Austin was still gettin hella love from the audience.

Yall keep trying to downplay Stone Cold and its kinda funny to see

That’s your problem. You get in your feelings about your favorite wrestlers and see everything as a slight against them.

It’s like saying Jordan was still the top guy when he played for the Wizards.

Stone Cold is the GOAT. Nobody is taking that away from him. Most of us will agree, I know he’s my GOAT. That doesn’t change the facts. Athletes can’t do this shit forever.

All we’re saying is he wasn’t at the top in 2002 and you’re not tryna hear it despite the facts.

You’re Trump in 2020.

small correction
austin worked no way out and a couple matches on raw (i think vs 3 minute warning) before wrestlemania 19
I didnt count no way out, cause that wasnt a match as much as it was an angle disguised as a match.

He just beat up Bischoff in 2 "matches" and then did the honors for Rocky and that was it. In retrospect his walkout was at least partially his poor reaction to his bump card coming due.
