No one is saying Chet is a bad player. But it's also a mentality thing. You cant under any circumstances shoot 2 shots in a winner takes all game.
Beta also won't admit everything hes saying here applies to Duren and will kill Detroit for giving Duren 200mil.
Chet is better than Duren, sure. But not when he only takes two shots in the only game that matters for them all season.
No one is saying Chet is a bust or anything.
The thing is if Chet is your 3rd best player and you gave him 250 mil, you kind of assed out under the been cba and repeater tax.
And I don't see Chet getting any better honestly. Sure next year he might take 15 shots in a similar game and make 8. But with skillset, offensively hes maxed out. And idc what anyone says bout his defense, giving the max to a player to be a 3rd-4th option when he can't take some of the pressure off your best player is a bad move in 2026. And by taking pressure off, I mean if he hits 8 out of 15 shots, at least 5 of them need to be without Shai being involved in the play. If Shai gets him those 8 shots, it's still Shai being super exhausted at the end.
Presti is still the GOAT and he did nothing wrong with Chet but Chet might be what slows down OKCs momentum.
Now if Chet comes back next year as a completely different player, I'll admit I'm wrong.
