Just 2 examples but the story of him letting X go from Def Jam and wiping out his debt so he didn't owe anything. Paying off Lil Wayne tax bill. Paying Scarface's medical bills when he was in the hospital a couple years ago...Trayvon Martin mom continues to speak highly of him.

nothing potential about that easy mark for a great lyricist and easy point to hit where just so used to surface level lyrics that something so basic in jay-z arsenal seems super special and I’m not downplaying the line is nasty work it just like dam we used to get these things all the time from multiple lyricist

Well this is the result after years of conditioning people to devalue the art of rapping.

There is no baton to pass. Once certain niggas die or go away, it’s over for a very particular style of rap in the mainstream
 
Saw this on reddit. Don't know the validity of some of these claims but according to the poster this is all public.

I don't believe in putting anyone on a pedestal. I do believe Jay is a major capitalist and is about his opportunistic at best
but it would be disingenuous to say he hasn't backed actual causes. How much he's personally done? idk but one would hope with that kind of money reform of some sort would come from it.

Niggas gunna kick my back in for this, but idc. Suing the states for reform is cool and im sure helped some thing, but the Meek Mill stuff seems more self- serving to me. 21 savage was a famous millionaire, the odds of him being deported were low and even if he was, he would of lived just fine in the UK.

I was never really impressed that he bailed some protestors out. Werent they mostly getting charged for violating curfew, failure to disperse and obstruction? Then there were a bunch of charities around where all the did was bail people out. They were getting tons of donations at that time(in the millions).

Letting X out his contract and wiping his debt was cool, so was paying the junkies tax bill & helping Scarface. But for me, that still falls into the category of just a really rich and famous guy helping out his less rich famous friends. I'm not bout to talk down on it, but I'm not bout to praise it either.
