Nah, not a chance... Hip hop has a different place within the world now, so its hard to make comparisons tbh... Not just hip hop/music stars but sports stars, movie stars and just celebs in general... Like if you were popular PRE internet you were super famous, because you were less accessible and more mysterious... If you were famous back then, you were on primetime TV, radio and newsprint seen by 10s of millions of people, now you kinda stay famous within your own bubble of fans and corner of the internet, though still earning tons of money of course...

Also Hip Hop's biggest stars still made songs for hip hop fans up until the 00s, even the radio songs that were aimed at chicks (LL Cool J etc) were still hip hop and if a song like 'Party Up' (or even Country Grammar) crossed over and became a hit, that means pop fans liked a hip hop song, if that makes sense??? Then as the genre got more and more popular (and watered down) we got rappers like Drake catering their songs for like their own audiences (pop fans who know Ice T and LL from TV shows not their music)... I like a few Drake songs, so thats not a diss to Drake, hes a popstar, whereas X was a rapstar (and movie star) who became a mainstream superstar...

So yeah, Drake has the polished popstar category over DMX granted... Though like I said, X was still a superstar in his own right, with no.1 mainstream radio and movie hits...

DMX also had two plat albums in one year, is that still a record???

Drake also jumps on other rappers/cities trends... X was always himself...

Has Drake ever rocked Woodstock in front of 200,000 fans, all singing his tunes word for word???

Lol camera guy knew the assignment

I was serious when I said I haven't looked at Drake the same since Marvin's Room. Dude was dead ass croonin' about being a hater and mfs sang right along....lol

To be fair...a good portion of rappers in general are haters and the amount of "ya man ain't shit i can do better" bars can't even be counted
