Yea, I'm actually surprised this isn't doing well overseas. Thought MK was a global brand
I know MK as games do well with casual fans more than hardcore fighting fans but usually overseas (well Asia atleast) it doesnt do as well as other fighters

MK is Akin to American football imo

I was reading other stuff but lack of star power doesn’t help the movies as well

I think the most famous person is Karl Urban right?

Rather have seen a ruthless Kano w the mechanical red eye. But overall it was cool. I agree with infamous. Something is not landing w the actor who plays Lui Kang for me but enjoyed his fight scene w Kung Lao.

Just watched.

Kano definitely the standout, had me rolling.

They did Baraka right. Did not see him being a Cage acolyte but it worked.

I see the Liu Kang criticisms and mainly agree. Kung Lao greatly outshines him as a character in the movie. Dude playing Kung Lao maybe should have played Liu Kang. He got the attitude.

This might be the best Hollywood can do with MK. I’d love a more serious series on HBO Max or something so all the lore can be fleshed out.

Was i the only one marking out at the stages from the games and how the camera shot the fight scenes like a game? Also the introduction credits using the classic SNES MK2 font?
Yeah I was geeked! I do wish they had actually done the stage fatalities though. At least when Cole got pushed into the acid down his skeleton float up. And have Sonya and Sindel fight at the top of the pit and knock Sindel into it.

They really tied the movie to the games by having a way to bring fighters back. In games they basically have unlimited lives and they’re bringing that into the movie lol.

if we never had a good lui kang IThe 90s he wouldn’t look so bad. It imo we are used to an Americanized Chinese lui kang

Imo he doesn’t fit in this direction of mk it makes sense for he new one to be kind of dry he just been trained to be a warrior kung Lao always had more “swag” imo

Some of the dialogue is terrible but I thoroughly enjoyed this. I’m kinda surprised how decent both these movies have been while trying to be faithful to the lore of the game. Think someone said it in here already this might be the best Hollywood can do with this IP. Seen they wanna green light a third film but it depends on the final results of this one. And if this is a flop I doubt we’re getting that third film.

Def would work better as an HBO max series.

Was highly disappointed Raiden didn't say HAILIBOOBALAYYY when he woke up and got rid of Quan chi.
