Has Social Media Ruined Battles In HipHop?

Battles have been ruined, i don’t see how anyone can say otherwise.

Imagine krs one and mc shan battling today, the music would have been overshadowed by all kinds of social media memes and antics and back and forth ig posts

That shit has nothing to do with the music and ppl treat the music as secondary. The main thing is coming off better of social media with memes and jokes.

How has that not ruined battles? It certainly hasn’t made em better.

Folks go on social media these days to strengthen their stance on a rapper. Folks read clips even if it's true or not.

If anything social media has added fuel to battles, in which to me, makes the battle even more intriguing.

Drake having another baby and being a pedo, the shit posted online made the song hit harder.

Pac said he fucked Biggie's wife, now if SM was turned on back then, that hit'em up record would have been much harder.

Other beefs in the past would have benefitted from SM, including the Nas vs Jay beef.

Taboo Hoe line...hit for me was when I saw Jay-Z struggle kick boxing lol.

And if that was today, we'd have 1,000 deep dive hot takes online about the morality of faith, is pac fair or foul, relationships in general,

Like it would have taken the wind outta the sails, it would have went from a crazy shock bar to a million dissertations about sleeping with your opps spouse's on every social media platform. There would have been entire podcasts about the shit.

Sports fans of a mediocre team are some of the worst. My team for most of history has been trash we have 2 super bowls in franchise history.
