Solid crime flick with its car chases and heists. The 3 main characters are all intertwined in this story and each are looking for inner peace. I love how the city of LA feels like its own character in this film and the filmmaking was impressive in this

Just got back from seeing this about a hour ago. Really solid flick kinda predictable but it was wayyyyyy better than I thought it was going to be. For me it was a solid 3.5/5 could've tweaked a few things and this would've been a 5/5.

Crime 101

PRAISE: This movie has the vibe and atmosphere of the 1981 movie Thief but it definitely becomes its own thing. I enjoyed the interactions between the characters that include Chris Hemsworth as Mike Davis, Halle Berry as Sharon, Mark Ruffalo as Detective Lou Lubesnick, Barry Keoghan as Ormon, Monica Barbaro as Maya and Corey Hawkins as Tillman also their conversations even when brief are memorable which are connected to some very good performances. Director and writer Bart Layton displays the flipside of heists and robberies from the well planned and smooth to the chaotic and violent. His story of a jewel thief targeting high stakes heists along the 101 freeway includes that you've done everything right in life but what you are receiving is disrespect and no recognition can push a person to start drawing outside of the lines. There's a moment in movies like this in which I start rooting for the "bad guy" but I also want to see the one that's pursuing the bad guy to have a moment of redemption and I think the movie does this in an involving way. There was a wrench in the works factor that stirred up just the right amount of worry in me. There are a couple of nice to see you cameos.I know some critics had a problem with how the last 12 minutes of the movie play out but I didn't because I remembered the signs.

PROBLEMS: One of the subplots could have been a bit stronger. There was an extremely unintentionally funny moment. A couple of predictable turns.

Scale of 1 to 10 an 8

Hot take...... any movie that has Halle in it will be mid at best
Yeah the Oscar really didn't do anything for her career

Maybe she was just only supposed to be the eye candy

Losing Isaiah is still her best project imo

Watched it last night

Started off decent and was mid/decent until the last third and the final confrontation was weak and somewhat nonsensical

Corey Hawkins didn’t need to be in this movie and he was just a whiney ass partner

Nick Nolte’s character was meh

Atleast let him be an obstacle instead of disappearing

25% of the movie is Chris hemsworth on a date

Halle Berry was okay

Mark ruffalo was OKAY

Just a mid movie
