I don't think this is true for the majority. Only reason I see them forcing people back in the office is cause of the businesses around these government buildings. They got hit hard. Alot of local food stores went out of businesses due to their main source of income being government employees. The Taco place around my job went out of businesses. Then they tore the building down.

Remote work only fits jobs where the person is off-site anyway. Otherwise bring your ass to the office. The biggest complainers about actually going to work are women by far, and I get it. Women have been forced into the workplace due to....well I won't get into all that, but I think covid lockdowns were eye opening for mothers especially. Simply put, most women aren't made for the 9 to 5 grind and better suited to take cares of their homes, kids, and communities.
