Who the hell don't want a Disney bag?
Someone who already has a career plan, and realizes a big role like this may alter it in a way they really didn't want. And if the movie bombs people will blame them, and it might derail they career.

Chadwick left very big shoes to follow. It could be intimidating to try to step into a role that's expected to make a billion

Anthony Mackie is filling a role played by a white man. The movie actually looks good so I don't think whoever plays the next BP will have to worry about this

Mackie is still playing the character he has played for a crap ton of movies and shows. He didn’t switch role’s at all. Plus people know what to expect with the way he plays Sam

I understand what you are trying to say, but the situations and role is totally different.

2 things. Falcon has been Captain American since 2015 a decade. People should be over it by now.

Its gonna bomb because of boycotting of the movie for the sabra hero. I know they changed her to be someone else but the damage is done

Bad take.

Mackie is playing Sam Wilson. He's always played Sam Wilson. Sam Wilson was "Captain America" in the comics.... His role is more like Shuri when she took over the BP mantle....

We're talking a complete recast. Actors typically have shows and movies lined up for some time, a big role in a movie franchise can completely impact that. It could be a TV show they are in the middle of, and taking this role complete disrupts that show.... In some cases, fuck it take the Disney bag... In others... They might not wanna destroy the show.

Think the dude who plays Reacher...a lotta people want him as the next Batman. I'm pretty sure that show Reacher would be done if he took that role... And he might not want to deal a whole show if he really enjoys doing it.

Remember how they changed Claudia in IWTV because of the Avatar movies...
That shit was a big deal.....

He's playing Captain America who is commonly associated with being a white man

To the average person that isn't immersed in comic lore or keeps to with the MCU, this is still something for them to realize and it might throw them off. Them = white people

Even if they've watched these movies as background noise, I bet they think of Chris Evans over Anthony Mackie

The movie addresses it even in the trailer...

They say "you're not Steve Rogers" the entire falcon and winter soldier TV show was illustrating that "Captain America" is a title... Not a person.. Steve Rogers is that person. Captain America is the title.

It's mentioned multiple times
Even if you didn't watch endgame (one if the most watched movies ever) they over stress the distinction.

That's a huge difference from two actors playing the exact same character and no one acknowledges that it's a recast.

I know you deep in the argument, but it's okay to admit there's a difference from a recast and a long term character arc

I know these things

You know these things

We know these things

Now that we are here, again, I'm not talking about us

So you gonna say people weren't paying attention to the end of the most watched movie in the entire MCU and that's contributing to the anticipation of this upcoming movie?

You really think after grossing 2+ BILLION DOLLARS people forgot Steve gave Sam the shield....🤔

if they watched end game.. they would know this

if they didnt see the movie and just watched the tv show.. they would know this

if they skipped out on everything except for this trailer.. they would know this

:niggaa:

I think it's more likely that EVERYONE who's going to see brave new world saw endgame

Than anyone walking into brave new world and NEVER seen endgame...

I don't wanna make up percentages.... But I can't see people being confused on this

Understood

2.8 billion dollars, but everyone walked out on the last 10 minutes cuz nothing important or significant happened regarding the future of the characters

Nah

My point isn't being articulated in the way I want so I'm just conceding. I'm not wrong, you aren't wrong. The dots aren't connecting from my brain to my keyboard and that's ok for me

I understand what you saying. But they're not connecting because the logic is thin.. Therefore it's a reach. I get exactly what you were trying for...I just saw it as a false equivalency.

Shit was still funny though. Lol
