Top 10? Hell nawl. Big L was nice and all that, and I have Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous and The Big Picture in the ride, but they barely ever get spins.

I've heard his freestyles and his guest verses from Show and AG's Represent to them late 90's joints, but dude just never really struck me as being in that elite tier of MC.
 
He falls in the same group as Canibus and rappers alike who are incredible MCs but weren't able to translate it on records.


You can say he had a small window, but from 96-99 he did nothin, while the other rappers mentioned in the OP were dropping classics.
 
Yes top 10 for sure...

He has a decent catalog tbh way more than BIG and Pun... Plenty of features and freestyles and dope albums: Lifestylez, The Big Picture, The Danager Zone and Return Of The Devils Son... Plus the C.O.C stuff...

Exactly.

Back then even if you had a slight hit your shit went gold. his first album didn't even come close to that. Shit even Canibus 1st joint went gold.
