did you consider the character Hoke a coon?.... i had this dicussion with a few people the other day.... i don't think he was a coon because he got paid. to put up with that old battleax Daisy& drive her where she needed to go.

At that period and time, a lot of the best paying jobs for black people were serving roles for rich households. People did what they had to do. That's like looking back at slaves and calling them coons for serving white people.

Jewish people never pay the going rate on a job.... as far as a raise you more than likely not going to get one.
