Capsaicin in peppers is supposed to be antimicrobial, antifungal, and kills parasite eggs so I can see why it would be included in most diets.

Traditionally many cultures are known to have spicy food, not sure how much if the spice levels of foods has to do with parasites in the body.
From my understanding a body that's more acidic will have more tendency to be parasitic
