is going to prom a overated experience?

I dunno I’ve never put any thought into it. I didn’t go to my prom but I went to homecoming my Senior year & that experience was about what I expected prom was gonna be. Frustratingly uncomfortable.

I guess the answer is yes lol.

I went to prom with my high school sweetheart lol. I really enjoyed it. Now it wasn't all this extra stuff the teenagers do now. But it was definitely an event that most looked forward to in my community
Side note I went to like 3 proms lol.

My mom was a high school teacher, so I remembered going as a freshman or sophomore with her one year.

And my boyfriend was a year older than me so I went to his senior prom and then he went to mine.

Now do I talk to, associate with any of the people I went with and had fun with today no. But it was a fun memory

No disrespect. I was caught off guard by your post. That's a wild statement and it doesn't fit your posting style from previous posts I read of yours. That's some shit those mega niggas would say. The prom is a great experience for teens and should be encouraged more in our communities so they can feel what it's like in a formal setting when they are adults.

Lol man looking back 🤣 so our group got hotel suites for afterwards

Now my bf and I were involved lol but I told him we wasn't doing that with ppl around lol. Because it like 2 coupes per suite and we had like 4 suites all kinda together. Man so many girls were called hoe's etc etc.

Nothing went down in my room, but the stories I heard in the other rooms lol

And of course others came trying to have a " hotel party" we almost got kicked out.

Let's just say a time was had lol. And I think at that age ppl not trying to go home lol. So random couples who hadn't been involved was trying to stay over in ppls room .

I was irritated too like wtf told all these other ppl but even without social media text msg traveled fast too lol

It was wild, bunch of 17-19 year olds rampant in a Atl downtown hotel lol.
 
Like most things that were once a big deal, the culture has moved beyond its significance. Besides that, everyone was fucking before 12th grade anyway so there was no appeal in getting laid on prom night specifically.
 
I went to the prom with my then-ex girlfriend. Technically we never broke up, she just moved 30 miles away and we lost touch until she showed up at my high school halfway through the 11th grade. I was going to rent a drop top Mustang for prom but I had to clear a warrant and a ticket so I ended up just taking my mom's ride. Had a great time there. My table had some of my crew and their dates there and we were laughing it up the whole time. Ended up squashing beef between me and one of my crew that I had a falling out with while we were in line for prom pics. I forget how it started, but we came to blows over something stupid in the lunchroom prolly two months before prom. Squashed it, bro hugged it out, and shit was cool after that.

I'm still in contact with most of the people that was with us including my date.

Ehh It matters. SO i played football in HS. But my prom was dope cause it was legit 16+ group of us. Called around to find a mexican spot that could accommodate us. Everybody meet at one spot and had a convey of rides pulling up to the restaurant and prom. We snuck in liquor both places going back and forth to the trunks. We all remember that because they way we rolled deep. The only thing i wished we did was take pics(some did) but you know back in the days niggas wasnt trying to have/pull out a camera(not a fucking phone you fucking young bastards)
