Welcome To aBlackWeb

do you feel compelled to honor????

I got like 3 months of leave built up. Either they getting a 3 month notice from me or a 2 week notice after which they gonna have to cut a helluva check.
Surprised your company doesn't have a limit you can carry over to the next year. 3 months is a lot. You don't go on vacations?

3 months is our limit and it carries over forever. I take around 3 weeks a year either visiting family or traveling. I tend to do that around holidays though and I always wind up doing a little work while away, so all that time doesn't get charged to Leave. I think I build up a lot of time during COVID. We build time pretty fast at this company. I could probably make more money elsewhere, but the benefits here are crazy plus it offers a good work life balance. I can't give that up.

Most jobs i always give 2 weeks.

I gave my job in Seattle a weeks notice then my first job in Portland I just never went back after I got the call to work at my current job. I like this job, ill give them 2 weeks when I leave

I used to wonder why people don't give the two weeks notice. It seems like the decent thing to do. Then I was reminded how cutthroat some of these companies are.

I think it depends on the situation. If you're with a good company that's done right be you, then you should do right by them. If you're with a company that only thinks of its bottom line, you have to do what's best for you.

Gat damn bruh!!! That is sum unprofessional shit lol
It was a bullshit job! I interviewed and was told I would be trained to weld and get certified. Only started me out at 20 an hour too which was like a 5 dollar pay cut from my job i left in Seattle, but I moved to Portland to be with my girl and needed a job asap and the 20 an hour was supposed to be during a probationary period that was like 3 months. Got hired on and they had me doing shop bitch work the entire time. Cutting parts and other random shit. Didn't even touch a welder.

Saw an ad on Indeed for a welder training program. 6 weeks and get certified and put out in the field and the training paid 21 an hour and I still had like 7 weeks left of my probationary period. Got the call on a Friday at the end of the day and they wanted me to start the following Monday so I wasn't going to tell them to wait lol. Just left work and never went back to that shop.

Funny enough I ended up seeing my old boss at a grocery store and he stopped me like "what the hell happened to you? You just leave and give no notice?" And I was like "hey man, they're paying me more just for training. Yall will be alright." Ended up getting a raise once I was certified too.

Fuck them. I didnt need their reference.

ofc, i didnt read all that. But ok bruh

I give 2 weeks and usually take a week to just relax and get ready for the new job/company. Only time i gave 1 week was when I was into it with my regional manager and simply didn't respect them enough to give 2 weeks. That person ended up being fired 2 days after I left when they got back from getting married.

Shit no.

If you're over 30, just buss the fuck out. I heard a dude saying he had to give his employer a 2 week notice, I'm like nigga you're 44 and work at Popeyes, nigga if you don't leave that shit
