As I said the last time this came up: Make it a lifestyle and show us a positive end result in the community and I'll dap niggas up for it and give them their well deserved praise for making a difference. But that ain't what it's about; it's a photo op, nothing more. A photo op and a slow motion video of niggas mean muggin or Cheshire cat smiling standing there with their hands crossed and nothing more.
I'll rock with it if the video ended after showing them same dudes in the community puttin' in work, patrolling the block like the New Era Detroit cats do, helping feeding the poor like my family did back inna day, or tutoring the kids or teaching them vocational skills, but that ain't happening. Just a bunch a goofs standing in a line in a goddamned suit.
I got more respect for this cat here than them suit niggas.
Again, I'm not arguing that putting on a suit is anything special. lol Go back to that topic. My first post was basically me saying that it was dumb. Whether you think it had value or was just a photo op is irrelevant to the point being discussed here. I brought it up because they were trying to put out something positive and a lot of women popped up to tear them down as men. They weren't criticizing the usefulness of the attempt. They were shitting on the men themselves. That was unnecessary. A lot of black women want to be celebrated for everything they do. That's cool. They are undervalued, so we should celebrate them. However, some of those same women don't want black men to be celebrated for anything.
