OUT NOW Snoop Dogg - Missionary

Added to Calendar: 12-13-24

Listened to it today without a lot of expectations and I quite liked it ...

Snoop was lyrically efficient on almost all the tracks... Hungrier than I've heard of him in albums in the last 10-12 years

Dre? His sound has totally evolved from the G-Funk of the 90s/00s ... I liked his work on the boards here but he needs more 'drums'... He killed it with the piano though

These are men nearing 60 years of age ... You're not getting prime music anymore

3/5

Any yall watch the Drink Champs ep

I was working while listening so i was half payin attention

Sounded like snoop said they made or at least planned to make this album in a matter of a few weeks

Maybe it was rushed

I liked the following tracks on first listen:

Shangri-la
Outta the blue
Gunz n Smoke
Now or Never
The Negotiator

I dunno exactly what people expected from this project. It’s cool. It’s not genre defining or a classic or anything like that and it doesn’t have to be.

This shit 🔥🔥🔥

Might be a lil long in the tooth considering how big the production is on the first half

Gotta run the Cube album and see if west coast up or nah
the cube album is traditionally West Coast like the Snoop and dog pound album from earlier this year

This Snoop and Dre shit is more diverse

Listened to the album today. Of course it never will have the impact that doggystyle had, the album ended up being better than I anticipated it would be. Ill probably give it a couple more plays, but there's a few songs I enjoyed.

Erick sermon said a long time ago he had worked on the album. I looked at the credits thinking he was a ghost producer of something but couldn't see his name anywhere. Hope we will get to hear that song some day.

Bumped it today. I fucks with it.

We've heard "Grown man raps" before, I think this album is the definitive "Grown man rap" album. It's some dope shit to cruise too. To me it feels like what I would call "A classical rap album". Not saying it's a classic. But it's rap album with some class to it.
