Do players flail when being fouled while shooting just to get the ref to blow the whistle or because genuinely they do it to gather enough energy to shoot the ball because their original shooting motion was interrupted?
It’s the body’s response to attempt the shot again while the arm is raised so it has to go back down (not all the way) and back up again
