Sadness, sadness when it first starts is a soothing feeling in relation to something in which grieving is the right response.
Though it can become so soothing that it lingers, and can be exasperated by empathy or lack of empathy.
It can be so comforting that you rest in it, till one day it’s the only thing that feels right. To which you’ll subconsciously create instances to keep yourself sad and have physical withdraw symptoms when you aren’t to which joy and happiness are to unfamiliar to identify with.
The crazy thing is, as much as you want to stop being sad, like most addictions, it’s hard to live without it.
But unlike most addictions, you can’t break entirely from it because you need it. So you become in fear of it, which causes a whole litany of more issues.
Sadness is the worst addiction you can ever have.
