FEATURED LL Cool J says he’s the “most important rapper that ever existed”, do you agree❓

test
Hey If you feel like Eazy Is the most important rapper by what you listed above ...OK

I Love Eric Wright at one time to me he was the most popular rapper .... I think we're both looking at this from different viewpoints

This might be the most important point in all of this. LL not only kept himself relevant for 20+ years, but he helped turn hip hop from a fad to a mainstream culture to a multimillion dollar business. Ppl forget about Krush Groove setting the bar for rappers in movies.

I mean it's the truth he's part of the first generation of rappers and managed to stay relevant for decades. And lets not even forget all the trends he set, the rocking Jordans , kango hats, fubu, the one pant leg up the gold chains the money pic on the floor. He's the blueprint of what it means to be a solo rapper.

“For us by us! On the low…”

LL took Fubu to another stratosphere when he rocked that hat during a Gap commercial.. He sneakily used Gap to advertise/promote Fubu…

Also had everybody rockin Troop shit. So many people copied this look. His Shirt King shirt wearing Dapper Dan gear next to the red Audi was the most bootlegged shirt of the time. Trust me. I was outside at that time.

Nah let 24 year olds who weren't even born tell you how it was back then

Again....Will Smith did that though. He's the guy who made it mainstream. LL wasn't even a factor in the 90s outside of that show In da House

The keyword there is "help". LL wasn't alone, but by the 90s he was the last one standing. All but his last two albums went gold or platinum with very little extra fluff outside of his ladies niche. Will was Will, but he didn't have a career defining beef with a rapper like Canibus, and sit here and tell me you had Willenium on repeat. Will was a rapper that became an actor who lost the little credibility he did have. LL set the bar on how to reach that next level while still maintaining his integrity.
