I think by the start of the 2010s it was universally accepted that College Dropout was/is a classic. I sure felt it was when it came out.

*shurgs* “we” don’t gotta wait if it’s a classic for you than there ya go. I think it’s a great album but I dunno if it’s impact on hip hop as a whole warrants a classic label. I’m sure Tyler influence on this generation of rappers could be off the strength of this album tho.

That's how he started out but from about 2017 till date he's been a soulful nigga... Influenced heavily by Pharrell and Kanye in terms of production qualities
