UMG is in negotiations with Drake on a very lucrative deal. If they used anything to to shift influence in Kendricks favor and used any tactic to discredit Drake then that's foul and that's not anything worth the amount of backlash it is receiving.

Two rappers are battling.

They both work for the same label.

One of the rappers is negotiating the biggest music deal in history with the label.

One rapper is having his songs and lyrics being used as a catalyst by the label to disparage the other rapper who is negotiating with the label.

The harder the label goes at influencing one rapper (Kendrick) the better their negotiating stance is with the other rapper (Drake).


If the roles were reversed, niggas would be trying to rally the entire music industry to get behind Kendrick Lamar especially. Can you imagine if Kendrick Lamar was taking on the biggest music label in the industry considering Kendrick's music and content?

FOH. Niggas would be calling for a revolution if Kendrick was doing this.

This logic makes no sense. Unless I'm mistaken, UMG makes money off both these niggas streams. Boosting Kendrick to definitively end the beef takes money out of their pockets. They would have been better off if that shit lasted for a couple more months.

Besides, UMG ain't paying the DJs, the sports venues, the TV networks, the college bands, and all the other entities that blew the song up. This is a bitch move plain and simple. Then to make it worse, is he's suing for defamation because UMG didn't screen Kendrick's songs for content. Last, I checked, they didn't screen Drake's either. So how is he going to sue the company for allegedly unfairly helping Kendrick and then also sue them for not unfairly helping him? lol
