To add to this...this is the perfect time for us to get even more politically involved when vetting our state congress representatives for 2026. Blacks actually have the opportunity to have real power within the Democratic Party and if you're paying attention, it's actually staring to happen which is part of the reason why these crazy ass folks are up Trump's ass. Dems just need to get rid of Nancy P and company.

they(democrats and republicans) shoulda been going after the businesses hiring "illegals" to begin with. Punish the companies.

These folks coming to the states illegally cuz they know they can find work and are willing to take a much lower wage than the folks here are willing to.

If the businesses were punished for doing that shit and wouldnt hire them.. they wouldnt be rushing to come here as much.

end of the day it all comes down to businesses not wanting to pay people a living fuckin wage

I know a few cats that do roofs and what they told me is that they hire illegals and pay them crumbs so their cut can be bigger because the materials have gone up. They have to keep their payroll down becuase of high cost in material.

Honestly, that time done passed. The Dems are too weak to consider any progressive movement that's not part of a major voting block and the GOP is infested with MAGA/P25. The only thing protecting us at this point is our citizenship status. We can still build our foundation and arm ourselves if need be. Fuck the government.

We need both...making moves for our families and communities AND having people at the political table. Trump and his ilk want us to say fuck it give up and walk away.

Good point. As it stands now they aren't of that much use, but ideally we would want to have some kind of ongoing partnership with our lawmakers, if only to educate ourselves and our community. We'd have to get past that communication hurdle. The Dems are admittedly easier to talk to, but they either give false hope or aren't willing to tackle the real issues. The GOP admittedly have the best ideology (self preservation), but they only want ppl that look like them at the table, or in Trump's case bend the knee and kiss the ring. It's a war right now and we have to be as realistic as we can.
