Yo as disappointing as it is the negative critics are right.
Here is a summary. This is not an RPG or even a DA game. If you are a DA fan and want at least Inquisition style, you will not get that. if it was its own game it would just be average at best. The combat is not as good as I believed as they have removed all tactical decisions and you can not even control your party members anymore. You also only get two companions instead of 4.
The dialogue is trash, not the voice actors, but what the characters are saying and how they say it. The tone is more light heart like a Disney movie. Some of this shit reminds me of Aladdin and its laughable. There are no real choices that impact the characters or world and as people have said their is no real conflict between the characters. This game was also supposed to be a mobile game, which explains the lackluster level design though they game looks good graphically. It does not have the open levels that Inquisition had so there is no exploration virtually at all anymore.
Yes, this game is what all the anti-woke crowd have been fear mongering about. Unfortunately these devs are pushing their identity and gender politics down your throat (no homo/pause) and there are some really cringe worthy scenes with even worse dialogue and over dramatics as if this was a teenage CW show. Its sad to see these devs participating in the culture wars and it even spilled out to Twitter with some devs attacking fans who have criticism. This game is what you would expect being written by someone with blue hair who is queer and its not what DA is about at all.
Now I will have to start checking who the directors and writers are of these games, which is something that I never even thought of doing. these people focused on their agenda instead of making a good enjoyable game. If they wanted to do that they should have made their own IP instead of using an established franchise, but politics and agendas have no place in any game. As I said even without all of that it is just an average game at best, but subpar for its legacy. Shit is ridiculous man. I want to like this game, but it feels like such a betrayal from what the devs said and what I expected. They also ruined some classic characters too that appear in the game.
This is why you do not trust reviewers, especially IGN. It has been proven that EA refused to send review copies to the people who had criticism after they got to preview the game. Yall keep posting IGN and they are trash man. Most of those positive reviews praise the game as some queer representation hero and that is not what video games are about. Bioware games have had LQBTQ characters for years, but they were good and that was not what these games were about. Everyone was already included, but the writing and characters were done way better. Vivian and Dorian from the last game (a lesbian black woman and a gay man) were great characters with great personalities, but these new characters are whiny, boring and lack substance. That is what you get when your "gender" is the only thing that defines you.
I will be trading this game in and will never buy another EA game ever. I will not get burned again and I wish I had looked at the criticism before purchasing this trash. hell i can put up with the agenda, but the writing, characters, level design and lack of actual RPG elements is unforgivable. Now this stupid culture war will get more fodder and normal people like me get another disappointing game. I waited 10 years for this? Wow! There is so much more to say, but I won't waste my breath. This game did have some potential if they just kept what made DA successful to begin with. Really just sad.
Well at least i can laugh at all the roast videos. This guy's character is hilarious. This is a Last Jedi situation for gaming.
One last disappointment. All these options in character creation, but I was unable to create a big titty and big booty Elf bitch. WTF?
