It’s not marketed to black kids.

But the videos online is making it seem fun and harmless

Other kids are doing the “marketing” and it’s not to black folks but to all young people
 
It's not new. It was around in the 90s because I remember a few TV show "very special episodes" being dedicated to it. I remember specially a Saved By The Bell episode about it. But I am shocked to see it being done so publicly. It was normally associated with raves and underground parties
 
I once did whippets while on X during intimate times with a young lady.
