Welcome To aBlackWeb

anybody got colorblind grandparents?

Colorblind I thought meant they don’t see race. Treating light skin kids better is the opposite. And no not while growing up. My mom said her grandmother treated light skin kids better though

Came In here to say I’m color blind but this ain’t bout that

But yea me and my bro look like Nino Brown and G Money

I didn't grow up with my grand parents..

But my mother light skin, and she says her stepmother treated her like hell because of it.

It wasn't till I was older than I found out that lighter skinned people were often treated better in some black families. It was the exact opposite for my mom

you never hear a light skinned/biracial grandchild complain about a color struck grand parent... a woman once told me she hated being around her biracial cousins.... she said her grandmother would talk about her hair, made her work twice as hard as her cousins, made excuses not to give her nothing during the holidays but had money to give to the 50/50 cousins...... she said it broke her spirit as a child that she wasn't treated fairly by her grandmother.
