From director Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front), Conclave follows one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events – selecting a new Pope. Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is tasked with running this covert process after the unexpected death of the beloved Pope. Once the Catholic Church’s most powerful leaders have gathered from around the world and are locked together in the Vatican halls, Lawrence finds himself at the center of a conspiracy and discovers a secret that could shake the very foundation of The Church.

Liked this film with its politicking and backstabbing among those who represent the Catholic Church, the desire for the power that comes with being the Pope. I thought the final twist would be that the guy who was ultimately chosen to be the Pope was behind the bombing (which wasn't needed in the film). Great performance by Ralph Fiennes and the cinematography was on point

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I liked it except for the end. The end seemed like they just wanted to throw some crazy twist in

It would have been good with Lawrence winning

I did like the twist of Bellini being the right choice because he supposedly didn't want it but then greed and ambition had him being bought out by Tremblay

Even Lawrence who didn't want it and was saying he was going to leave ended up admitting that he wanted it

Yea, I think one of the themes is human nature. Even these men who represent the Church aren't infallible to human desires like ambition, greed and power
