Rza was adamant, he didn't let anyone work with other producers except him. The same rules applied to him. All about his clan.

There is a reason why the whole group was pissed off at him. he took half of the money from group albums and then he also took money from their solo albums. It was written in their contracts.

But he took care of ODB son, I saw interview with him he said that RZA has always helped him , since he was a child he been there. Love was there because he was related to Odb. Can respect that.

Alchemist was a very, very close 5th. I actually picked him over Dilla at first, thought about it, and picked Dilla.

Dilla’s a producer’s producer as a nigga that make beats. Obviously all of them are special. Dilla different


Without that perspective I get the pushback but he’s a no brainer for me

He’s not
He’s dope,for sure but more akin to the hired hit man . He’s great at giving artists loud thunderous bangas, (IMO, he over produces some tracks)


Meanwhile these others guys, know how to take their foot off the gas , with subtle and simple production that compliments artist and really let them shine

No one, of course does this better than DJ Premier. You can literally make an entire album/mixtape just off Preemo’s laidback chill, evening drive production

Only Pete Rock comes close to this level of quantity and quality production for over 30 plus years
