I thnk EPMD are mad underrated tbh people call them legends but I feel they are still overlooked...
This solo album is a personally favourite of mine too, not sure what the general consensus is though as its rarely mentioned...

Erick is nice on the mic. Got classic albums with EPMD, dope solo joints, Def Squad shits, aaaaaaaaaaaaaannd the nigga done produced for a long ass list of artists.

That's true though.
EPMD is a legendary group..........but most people don't see either one of them as standalone legends.
The only way they would be considered standalone legends would be if they were just as successful in their solo careers as they were in the group.
Now, Erick Sermon's solo career was more successful than Parrish's..........but no where near as successful as EPMD's.

Erick Sermon as a producer is what pushes him into Legend status. There are very few MC's that can also claim Producer and even fewer that are very competent at both.

Cappadonna even said EPMD saved New York hip hop, ppl don't understand how much impact they made. They was the probably the one who was making real hip hop back then. Even Erick came to Staten Island when they had beef, that nigga didn't give a fuck back then. Heard Mc hammer was robbed in the bay by EPMD and his brother got beaten up in late 80's early 90s. Sadly Keith Murray beat up Prodigy. But thats still EPMD. Even Erick was there.
