This is a great example of what I said right here.

You just giving all the credit to Jeezy cuz he was the first to pop. Jeezy just happened to be the first to go somewhat mainstream in a new genre of music and was good(smart) enough to maintain it into a long respectable career. Nothing he did was legendary.

Kinda shows Shawty Red had more influence on the trap sound not Jeezy.

Gucci & Jeezy were out at the same time and both dropped hits in mid 05. I think Jeezy's just came out a lil earlier, so how is it there would be no Gucci without Jeezy? That just doesnt make sense.

Funniest part is all the people you named, were literally influenced or discovered by Gucci. If anything this makes the case Gucci is a legend not Jeezy. Gucci was the one who discovered The Migos and gave their cd to Quality control. Hell most of these newer Trap artists always say, Gucci or Lil Wayne when asked who their influence. I dont remember anyone really saying Jeezy

im not quoting everything

lil bibby, Fetty Wap, OG Maco, 21 Savage, Waka Flocka, Young Thug, Migos, Speaker Knockerz, Chief Keef, Peewee Longway

NGL, in citing my sources, I found out shit I didnt know. The fact that Gucci could of pulled a Diddy or Baby move and signed all of those nobody artists that then blew up to forever contracts but didnt, thats some legendary shit. He helped them get their careers off outa str8 love. That alone is legendary cuz of how rare it is in rap

Gucci's last bid, he dropped 24 diff projects while locked up. Not songs, projects. Thats 359, songs, Thats cuz he had thousands of songs he had recored and unreleased. He made over a mill while locked up from people just buying his music on itunes.

He more of a legend than Jeezy

And that’s why I said he said he has the worse catalog rap history

Jeezy is a legend because had multiple classics.

Gucci a legend because of his impact on other artists (they all trash but it’s a huge impact)

The poll going about how id assume it would. I know most ppl knock him bc they don't like the music but it goes beyond personal taste.

Dude was having a hell of a run during mixtape weezy era. He was bumped in the streets and the clubs.

He was also the only druggy I heard of spending only $3 for a pill

Legendary

His music don’t make him a legend.

Gotta just agree to disagree

In my opinion it has everything to do with it. Zaytoven gave him the sound that put him on the map, the run led to the influence that put hella ppl on
Y’all are really over estimating where his music was really playing at.

HIS music is not at he’s considered a legend. Y’all need to accept that and move on.

If we're talking official singles him and Jeezy are neck and neck with charted singles.

If we're talking mixtape shit, Im not saying u weren't....but I know I was outside.
One has classic albums

The other one has 30+ dud albums.

Bruh got 21-0 in that VS battle. Shit was embarrassing

I voted vet but for you fans of his music if he's a vet, why is Jeezy a legend? Didn't they have similar careers and accomplishments?

Lol the comparison to Jeezy wasn't about which is better. It's that u said we're overestimating where his music was being played when his chart success is similar to Jeezy.

wasn't even a fan of Gucci like that

but I was def in the clubs/streets during his run

Gucci shit was going at least from TX to FL and all the way up to DC at the time

he had shit on smash for a min even tho I personally thought most of his music was terrible

u def really wasn't outside if u didn't see the impact he had at his peak

his legend status to me is based on his impact and the artists that followed him/fucked with him

he's one of the reasons "mixtapes" sound the way they do today

he took 50's formula of makin songs as opposed to jus freestylin

but instead of jackin beats, he used original ones

put that shit in hyperdrive & flooded the streets

now of course if you weren't/aren't a fan, you'd say he might have 1 of the worst discographies

but if you are, there's sum classics sprinkled throughout (Chicken Talk, The Movie.. to name a few)

but yea, he's a living legend
