I think this is more a trope than anything. I have never felt that way nor have any of the men I know.
 
some men do feel uncomfortable for some reason.....i think some would rather just give you the money & take you to the store & have you get it yourself.

No time at all 'cause I'm the oldest and grew up with 3 sisters that I had to take to go get their stuff. As long as they tell me exactly what they want, I'm good. I ain't in there making decisions on which to get tho, that shit needs to be spelled out otherwise I'mma grab the big joints.
