I was gonna make the point that the Nets dont need a players coach.
Over the last few years starting with KD and Kyrie, the reputatuon with the Nets has been that the players run everything there, and there is no organizational discipline. Who knows if its true or not but the understanding was that even Harden left because of how bad it was there.
Imo you need a hardnosed discipline minded coach to change the culture. Eventually once the culture is put in place you can bring in the players coach.
I was gonna say all that until I remembered Joe Tsai still gonna be there and winning seems to be the least of priorities. He just wants to not lose money and watch the price of his team go up so it doesnt really matter.
With that context the players coach is the right move

I’m not worried about the players coach aspect. His bread and butter was a developmental coach and we have a lot of young players so that’s what he’s here to help with.
