OPINION Is Pornography being used as a weapon for Psychological Warfare?🤔

When someone says "we didn't have..." and clearly we did have, chances are pretty high that you simply weren't aware of it existing. It ain't because I'm older, I was just aware of it, maybe you weren't. That's what I put forth. There are older Millennials that would agree with me and those that would agree with you; it all depends on what their experience with the internet at that time looked like.

My little brother's (early Millennial) experience is gonna be different from my baby sister's (mid/late Millennial) experience, and the both of them will greatly differ from my oldest daughter's experience (very late Millennial). My brother might agree with me whereas my sister and daughter might agree with you.

Well I never said the access was never there or non existent. Just the ease to which it could be accessed. Yes it could be accessed through computers and later cell phones. But that all took time for people to have more personal home computers and cell phones that gave that kind of access.

Cinemax After Dark had softcore porn in the 80s. All you needed was a tv

Society doesn't encourage ppl to accept themselves as sexual beings which means we can't talk about it anywhere but sex is everywhere. We're oversexed and simultaneously undereducated.

Porn IS problematic cuz porn is just a reflection of society and society is fucked up....but erotic material has always existed but to @ImaInfluenza point, all those spaces disappeared/moved to the public square.

Shout-out to you for reading that

The problem is usually when you have these types of convos with the people you've described on both sides, both sides tend to speak in absolutes cause of their personal experiences.

It either didn't happen cause they weren't personally impacted or everybody was doing it cause that's what people in their environments were doing.

Lack of nuance is really hurting intellectual conversations

Ima be honest....I dont think porn is the problem..the problem is mfs watching shit that don't match their sex life. You got a solid 4.5 inches of dick but you watching mandingo bend over [insert oiled up bbl bodied latina] on a regular basis. No wonder you insecure and got a complex.

Yall a vanilla couple but you beatin off to bdsm freak shit in private. No wonder yall aint had sex in months cuz you not doin what you actually wana do.

Watch some realistic shit that goes with what you do or start incorporating the shit you like to see into your sex life (unless you're actually a fuckin weirdo then you need to get yourself checked) and watch your sex life improve.

True, true.

Society doesn't encourage ppl to accept themselves as sexual beings

That's all society does. You can't say sex is everywhere while saying society discourages sexual thought. Everything is sex. Kids are being sent home today in grade school with wooden dildoes and the like. It's in the classrooms, it's in the music, it's in games, on tv, in the movies - sex is everything and everywhere. Social media has led to a whole generation of young people to see themselves as commodities with the birth of the Onlyfans model of smut.

The idea that we are governed by some puritan logical order is so outdated. Sex positivity won a long time ago but no one wants to admit that it didn't lead to the utopia people said it would.

That undereducated part is 100% spot on. And people are so scared to talk about it in some instances that people spend their lives believing shit that is easily disproven but unfortunately shapes how they view the opposite sex and their interactions with them

The ill shit is, when you actually do some of the stuff, it be like, ehh, to actually do it. But people should definitely at least do some of the stuff you indulge in.

Thats how people find out that shower sex ain’t really what you think it is. I’ve indulged in bdsm only to realize the person you’re doin it with has to be into it.

Someone doing that just to appease you just misses the point.

STDs is running rampant and evolving because muthafuckas keep fucking so many people and them shots can’t keep up.

All this leading to more and more extremes

Sick world.

Not saying it discourages sexual thoughts, im saying it discourages reality and conversations about our reality. Sex is everywhere yet we're taught repression is how we demonstrate our morality and control over it. So now we're just a bunch of pervs with no impulse control bc we can't be honest and talk about the role sex actually plays in our lives.

Like I follow a couple sexual wellness pages and erotic art pages and they've been shut down a few times. Meanwhile it's full blown porn and nudity on the same site and nothing happens. Stifling actual adult conversation yet permitting porn is how sickness is created lol

Sex talk is everywhere. The conversations are being had all over. Were taught the opposite

It’s rarer to here folks talk about repression.

I'm saying...

Thats why most mainstream porn aint it cuz that shit don't even really feel that great and isn't achievable for the avg person. It's just for the camera.

I grew like most men loving and indulging in pornography but I agree with yall. I can train an algorithm by watching nothing but cat videos and at some point it will find videos of women specifically angling their camera at their breast or crotch while playing with cats. It’s frustrating because who wants to see this stuff that bad all the damn time? I’ve reverted to somehow only being attracted to nicely dressed and composed women, and am immediately turned off by bulging or exposed body parts in outfits. I’ve become the old man saying, put some damn clothes on.

I understand the point you are trying to make but I feel like you are 40 years too late. The open discussion and acceptance of sex has been part and parcel of daily life for some time. The exact opposite seems to have taken hold. Sex positivity, not sex negativity, is the name of the game. People are screwing about because that is what society deems normal and okay. Premarital sex, hooking up, casual sex - all of these are examples of ways current society operates that fly directly in the face of the idea of a prudish society. The idea of someone not putting out would come as a shock to most people today. We are not taught repression. Everything around us says to do it.

Yea crude sex talk is everywhere...but healthy sex talk and how to have intimate relationships aren't. That's what I mean when I say conversations. We aren't socialized to be sexual beings in a healthy way so we learn it from the skewed lenses of porn, music, and ppl in our community that weren't taught it either.
