Breaking News Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore Collapses

The infrastructure in multiple cities in America is of the level of third world countries

This ain't that.

If a 2021 greyhound bus ran into your 1993 house and it collapsed you wouldn't be blaming the infrastructure.

I'm guessing here but that bridge was probably designed and built decades before ships the size of that carrier even existed. At the time that bridge was built, it would've been very hard to have ships the size of the Dali in mind.

This is like the World Trade Center. The Twin Towers were designed to withstand a plane rash. The planes that crashed into the towers did not exist when the towers were built though so there was no way for them to account for it.

And I don't disagree about the infrastructure across the country being subpar. I just don't think that this incident was centered around the flaws of the infrastructure. If any infrastructure is to blame it's probably the ship that lost power two times before crashing into the bridge. The ship is from Singapore. It clearly showed issues with power. I don't think the design of the bridge or the bridge even being there is the issue here.

It does say something about the design of the bridge that this impact collapse a bridge 1.6 miles long though

And if their are some survivors it would be miraculous 🙏🏾

How many of y’all commute over a similar bridge frequently? This gonna change anything for you?

We don't have these type of bridges but there are hwy bridges that are apart of the hwy that go over water or other hwys or neighborhoods.

I wouldn't be too worried because it's not like this bridge just fell on it's on.

That ship is bigger than the biggest building in a small city downtown. The Key bridge was the third longest Truss bridge in the world. That ship would knock down any bridge in the world the exact same way.

Like I said before, when bridges like the Key bridge were built, ships the size of the Dali did not exist.

Picture the tallest building in any city that's not in the top 25 in population in the Unites States. That ship is bigger than that cities biggest building and it hit directly into the main support of that bridge. Immaculate force vs immovable object. The force won.

It shouldn't. The bridge fell because of the ship and not the bridge itself.

This would be like not working in a tall building anymore because of September 11th. Tall buildings don't just fall on their own.

I know, they dont rethink nor revist we have tons of bridges just like this made with a whole different time in mind.. thats an issue

So now you can’t even casually drive over a bridge without the ground literally falling from under you. And behind some remote control operated technology? I wonder who heads is about to be rolling after this.
