Nas was selling 200-350k first week in those days. He was a multi platinum artist. Not on Nelly or Em's level of sales wise but still a mainstream artist.
Backstreet Boys sold 1million plus the 1st week on back to back albums a year apart. The album sales game was insane. That's why it became something to diss people over.
