Welcome To aBlackWeb

I can occasionally listen to R Kelly's music without pretending he's innocent.

Full discosure, I never really loved his music. I thought he put out some good hits, but he was never really in my playlist like that. However, a lot of people who do listen to his shit and love his music can't square it up with him being a sick ass predator, so instead of ditching the music or having the intellectual honesty to confront their own enjoyment, they just invent conspiracy theories where he never did anything wrong.

It's 2024 and you still have Knee-Grows trying to act like Tasha K orchestrated this fool's entire downfall. Like Tasha K made this scumbag marry a 15 year old. Like Tasha K and the 'legal system' made this animal piss on a minor. If kewns want to act like this asshole was 'done dirty' then they are gonna need more than that.

With all that being said, I can hear one of his songs and not want to turn it off, but I feel a little sick to my stomach when I see him on an album cover, and I have no desire to watch a music video he's in. Maybe that will change in future, but what wont change is me forgetting or convincing myself he didn't do what he did.

I can bump any one of he's albums and feel nothing. I don't attach what he did to the song I'm listening to at all.
I think it's weird when people say they think about him doing xyz to young chicks when they hear him. My mind ain't on no young chick🤷🏿‍♂️

A slap gonna be a slap and he b got plenty of slaps

The only song I listen to with him on it is the Street Dreams remix. I didn't really care for his music even before the allegations and conviction.

It's the lyrics

i can only listen to a few r kelly songs and i don’t play em that frequently, but im not a huge fan of modern R&B in general. i prefer stevie and al green and those types

the 90s folks i like tended to be more of the neo soul guys

If a song is on I'll rock with it,with his atrocities in the back of my mind.

But,because his music is played less,it's rare I hear him.

I liked his music a lot,but that situation made me not really want to listen to him like I would.

Boy got slaps though and I might watch Trapped In Closet periodically because it's insane and hilarious.

I'm not on the "cancel R. Kelly" bandwagon, but I can never listen to a man passionately sing "my mind's telling me no, but my body's telling me yeah" with that on his jacket. The R was a classic tho.
