My assumption is that most police departments would have all but abandoned x/k/ka band radar for laser at this point. Besides, at the time that I was selling them possession of one was illegal in various states across the country (I just looked, it's now down to only two states where they're illegal). Even here in Michigan back in the early 90's it was illegal to have a radar detector in your car but, oddly, not illegal to sell them. Cops would confiscate them if you got pulled over with one, and back then they had RDD's so they could tel if a car had one. Plus, radar is horrible for picking out individual out cars in a pack, laser is far more accurate and can be used to find the rate of speed on an individual car in a pack.

It just makes sense from a technological standpoint.

They use ka and laser now. Even my extremely old one of 10+ years detects laser and even has vg2 which detects the radar detector device. I've had them ever since I lived in MD. We would just take it down when crossing into VA where it was illegal

I started to realize it a lot of people invested in dumb shit and it’s also a whole lot who don not gaf about the dumb shit and give it no more energy than needed. And they seem much happier. Starting to work for me.

Chrome just released an update that stops resources being used from unused tabs to help with this very issue
