i only listen to the songs where drake raps, and to me it’s not soulless, and i think i got a pretty good idea of who he “really is” (to the extent that you can ever know any of these celebrities)

Drake's music is led by this persona of being a sensitive light skin lothario that is always getting done bad by the women that seem to get tired of him for being sensitive. Then he turned on them and tell them he is the best they ever had and they are gonna be sorry they missed out.
Now Drake is on some, bitches ain't shit, I'm rich, sugar daddy shit. Which is what he was about the entire time.
Drake's music is a false intimate portrayal of who he is for the longest time until now lol.
You realize he wasn't sad, writing down raps about his broken heart.
Lol, he's a 6'3 200 something pounds, rich guy that fuck hoes and get money. People just now realizing how shallow he is.

I am saying that people stating Drake's music is soulless because at age 37 the mask has come off.
Early Drake had no style, no message, no charisma, what he did have is the ability to songwrite and put together a record. He had Pop sensibilities.
He gave people fascmile of closeness and intimacy because he was "sensitive" compared to the rappers before him.
In reality he wasn't, he even said that he isn't walking around sad or in his feelings. It's a gimmick. It's just music.
So at 37, when he's rapping about bitches and hoes and killers.
Retrospectively, you realize Drake never stood for anything in a genre where authenticity and message determines how great you are, not record sales.
So yeah, Drake is a soulless artist but he's a Popstar.
