The issue with post ups vs 3s was always that its easier to build a team where all the players can shoot from 3 than it is to build a team where the whole lineup is effective from the post.

Its less about post up vs 3s and more about which skill is easier to find
 
Post ups have always been valued.....it's that fact that too many inefficient players were tying to do it and made it unnecessary

Same thing with the mid range

I agree though, it isn’t as many skilled players who can post up and be an actual scoring threat which causes teams to double team or help. Then you have the post players or players okay and scoring from the post who aren’t good at passing out of the doubles.

Jokic and the Nuggets do more than just have him post up on the block though. He is also really good on the pick and roll/pop and he does a great job playing high low basketball with his teammates.

Dude is really nice with it on the offensive side.
