How y’all feel about this? Do artists owe influencers who make these viral dances anything?

🤔

Drake put that shiggy nigga in his in my feelings video but you haven't seen shit from dude since

I also don't give a shit what goes on with these people also.

Be a fan and keep it pushing

No man...

You're totally discrediting the work Damson did with the Franklin Saint character, but this all I'ma say about it since you don't ever wanna talk about these things in the threads dedicated to them
You’re entitled to your opinion, I stated mine, you stated yours, and we move on as the rest of the universe doesn’t care.

I agree with your view. Just not the analogy. See I feel Hollywood is purposely putting them in these roles bc there is no tied that binds them to our community.

We've had them in recent years play characters like MLK, Harriett Tubman and even Aretha Franklin which if the roles were reversed they would have felt people who shared the background of the characters they portrayed should be out in the film. They weren't too happy when Americans played characters like Anwar Sadat and Mandela

Think about how dude who was in belly said he played the hater character over the top on purpose, hoping to ham up the movie, but he’s one of the most standout characters. That’s how British actors do, their behavior will always be extra because they aren’t from the hoods of America or adjacent.
You're not wrong

American actors who’ve experienced these other type of Americans in their lives, people actually like them or actually are these people they play. Give Americans actors the depth to play the realistic version of these people.

Uk actors play the caricature of these characters, which stand out better in film because none of us are dynamic in actuality. Put a video camera in your house for month, I don’t care who you are, you’re fucking boring.

The hood is fucking boring, hiphop and film would have those not from it believe that it’s live. It’s absolutely mind numbingly boring 80 percent of the time.

Lebron James the man is boring, Micheal Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, all of us in reality are boring. Yes we have outstanding moments that can tell a story but we are boring, in reality. American actors seek to bring forth the reality of a man.

UK actors bring forth, the story of a man. That plays better on film because we are only with that character for moments and in those moments we want the caricature, not the reality. It’s easier to play the caricature when you yourself aren’t too aware of the reality. That’s why for film they are better actors.

But for roles that lean more toward stuff like Malcolm X or historical type shit dealing with black people in America. American actors are better because they can tune into the reality better.

Friday was probably the best hood movie ever..cause didn’t nothing really fucking happen. Contrast that with boys in the hood. That’s a couple years worth of hood shit condensed into a couple monthsz

Dansom did an amazing job. Great actor. Im happy for his success

Well stated. No further disagreement from me.

I'd also like to point out these Black actors from America went to prestigious schools like their counterparts like Yale Theater. This includes Samuel L Jackson, Ernie Hudson and Angela Bassett just to name a few. They've mastered the craft

He did do a great job but of all the clips people tout the best about his character, it’s clips in which he gets very animated. It’s rarely nuisance. The dude who does has nuisanced scenes that are touted from that show are ironically and unironically this dude

He has heart breaking scenes that you can feel, he brought reality to something cartoonish. Where as I feel like Damson brought theater to something real.

feeling betrayed, discarded, hurt, can’t let it show, it is what is, I must move on, no one is gonna care about this pain..one of the many scenes that leads to him begging his girl to just leave the streets wit him..

:scust: Shit is deep nigga

See him “act” through in his facial expressions how a man would go through a litany of emotions in that brief moment…you can see it in his face..then he says..sure thing

Nuisanced

It's pretty good but heard it's on the pricey side. Also read reviews on the app saying it's difficult to cancel but my friend was able to cancel easily 🤷‍♂️
I cant speak too much on price, ya mean, cause..I can afford it just fine, but everybody aint me..so

I haven’t looked into, but I’m sure it’s really hard to cancel. Just cause even though in theory it does cost a lil. It’s the ingredients, delivery, and instructions. Feeds two, and in action is probably cheaper than going grocery shopping in actuality when you really break it down. I don’t think anyone gives you this kinda deal and is just gonna let you walk away…like aight..nah, I’m pretty sure they make it extremely hard in some way.

Can a nigga from, oh I don't know... South Central LA act and it not look like that shit that was on Money & Violence that had niggas in a chokehold?

these black London actors not taking jobs away from black American actors. These dudes have to audition just like the American ones.

I wish y'all would stop this cause it's a disservice to the work those actors have been putting in. People can't have it both ways. When it was Morris Chestnut in everything, the problem was, why they not giving other black men a chance. Now that there is more diversity, now it's, why all the black London niggas getting roles instead of American ones?

Using Snowfall as an example. It's not a documentary. Loosely based and documentaries are totally different things.

Y'all's gripes over some of the most miniscule shit is mind boggling. That's like people complaining about Dexter being based in Miami but it's shot in LA. So what?!?!

Nothing happened in Friday? Friday, like every other piece of cinema had a beginning, a climax and an ending. Plenty of shit happened. The premise on it's own was funny but trying to make that shit into a 3 act movie is different and for most of the obvious and even the more subtle jokes to land is a credit to cubes writing as well as the actors that brought it to life.

This isn't directly at you Trill. I'm just addressing all y'all in one post.
