Scarface was placed in the hospital after a serious battle with COVID-19 last year and eventually suffered from kidney failure.
It was later announced that the rap legend would need a kidney transplant and began looking for donors, but thankfully his son was a match, and it was just revealed that the two had a successful surgery.
Scarface’s son Chris Jordan took to Instagram to share the good news of his father’s successful surgery. Rap-A-Lot founder J. Prince also shared a positive message updating fans about Face’s status, emphasizing how much his son Chris loves him
“Congrats to my brother @brothermob & his son @_iamchrisjordan for giving his father one of his kidneys,” he wrote in the caption of the post. “I celebrate with the both of you for being an example of unending love. Chris, many people talk about how much they love your dad, but you have separated yourself from the talkers by your actions. We all salute the both of you and wish you both a speedy recovery.”
After it was revealed that Face had a successful surgery, other hip-hop veterans like T.I. also took to Instagram to wish the rap legend a speedy recovery.
In July, Scarface told the Geto Boys Reloaded podcast that he matched with his son for the transplant.
“A couple of days ago .. well Friday they called me and said I was a match with my son,” Scarface said. “So it’s any day now.”
In the same interview, Chris said that he had no hesitation in giving his dad his kidney. “I just told him when everything was going down, ‘Hey man, you don’t have to go through that. If I’m a match, I’ma do it,’” Jordan said.
