This Is Insane

How many brains are behind that music, though?
Lame response.

The only people still attempting to push that “sweatshop” narrative are the anti-Drake Internet message board keyboard warriors....and a few hip hop “purists”. That’s it.

Like I said in the other thread, this Scorpion album will end up putting out 10 - 15 hit songs when the dust settles. In my opinion, that will make it a classic.

This isn't about purism or sweatshop bs. To say drake did this when there are 10-15 brains behind the music is an exercise in self deception. People are giving him accolades despite the credit belonging to a long list of names

Every single album made in the history of music has had contributions from the artist and others. Have you demanded that those other artist not receive accolades?

You couldn’t have talking about anything but the lame sweatshop narrative.

Its true, some albums have more behind the scenes people than others.

For example, Life After Death has a long list of assistant and associate producers, where as Hard to Earn by Gang Starr was basically Guru and Premiere. Be was just Common and Kanye.

However, in order to make a masterpiece you'd need the help of more than just one producer.

They should be sharing. Which other goat rappers you talking about? Tupac? Biggie? Other acts have writers and band mates and when they get screwed out of their dues it's just as bad. Quincy criticised MJ for how he did a lot of musicians and songwriters dirty

None of those previous record holders had streams counting towards they're totals though. Like someone above said, its a totally different world now.

lol People stay boosting up Drake as if 90% of his competition in the rap game isn't a bunch of clones spitting unintelligible bullshit over beats that are starting to sound more and more alike. Give him credit if you want, but how hard is it to always run the billboards when you're really just going against a bunch of noise. It's not like he releases shit at the same time as Kendrick and manages to get these numbers.

He ain't gettin no Pulitzers, that's for damn sure. He'll never be viewed in the same regard as a Kendrick or a Cole. He still ain't put out a classic body of work either. As you said, how hard is it to put out these numbers when your competition is damn near non-existent? I'm a fan of some of Drake's music, but his intended audience is new niggas and women.

He's always gonna do his numbers, and that's cool, but let's not act like his artistry is something to fawn over because it most certainly isn't.
