Spend That (Wicked ass Song or Is that Your Jam)

Knock_Twice

2 Words
To all the niggas who car service engine light is on and that rock to that song in this hot ass weather wearing shades , (no shade, do you) but is this some healthy shit for our society to be bumping?

What are you all thoughts on the song? Indie Arie made mention about the song

I myself think the song should be taken off the radio, along with many others but the focus is on this song.

2nd part question

Should this country be more strict and more against negative things?

Sitting in the barbershop talking to the old heads, they made mention about homosexuality being displayed on TV, how they can't watch a show, and they went to the realms of saying how it wasn't any shows or anything as such on TV, radio back in their day displaying any of this type of act. This isn't necessary an strike on the folks on here who are a part of that community, just an observation

I tried watching 4 Seasons on Netflix, that corny ass show, and it's like these folks (white folks, executives of these shows) are trying to usher in the wickedness of the Devil onto these platforms (imo)
whether it comes to our food, being poisoned, clothes being poisoned, etc.

Thoughts.

Just saw people on Facebook talking about this shit....

It amazes me how worked up people get about little shit.

How is this any different from Lil Kim them in the 90's? It's a fucking song... Shit is not that serious. No

I saw folks mention songs from Lil Kim, youngboy and others, but one post/podcaster dude did make a good point, it's not the song, it's the actions in the song that have these women looking for dudes like this, tricks etc.

It's how the song somehow converts young boppers and old boppers into thinking that they want a scamming/felon type ass dude.

No different from Youngboy music or Pooh Sheisty music.

I can listen to R.Kelly's music but in no where, I'm leaving the house, dressing like this nigga, talking like this nigga, or on the prowl looking for the same chicks that this dude was seeking out.

I think listening to Spend Dat, some of these chicks really think they are these lyrics or seek to fulfill the lyrics in that song.

Again, just talking about Spend Dat song

Don't save them chicks bruh. They not worth it

So the mission is to save dumb asses?

Not necessary save them but cut the fat off the meat per say. The song is prolly the number 1 song, I don't know, but let's say that it is, and 100% of black women, old and young are listening to it, from the kids to the auntees.

You don't care, but just for shits and giggles, what if 74% of these women (20 million black women) really thinks like this, again with just this song. Should we care then?

I was watching Beavis and Butthead the other day, I had no idea little Nas X had a song where it was gay jail niggas as dancers....

I would have thought something like that would have infuriated the masses

Wouldn't have happened in 95. But here we are. I'm trolling and have the shits charged, but man this is truly a fucked up society that we live in.

I see why you wanna drop dead at 60 brotha

I'm positive my wife has no idea this song exists.

I just found out about it today.

The people who like this song already on that kinda time.

There's no chicks out here changing their entire lives in a negative manner cuz of Yung Miami

"I was really looking for a good man to treat me right and start a family, then I heard Yung Miami song and realized the error in my ways"

Said no one ever..

The fact that that you really think 100% of women are jamming to this song is laughable..... Like bruh, it really isn't that big of a deal

Also....

MORE PEOPLE WILL BE EXPOSED TO THIS SONG BECAUSE OF PEOPLE BASHING IT....

I never heard of this song before today. I had to look it up to see what people were complaining about, and turned it off after like 30 seconds....

Had India Irie and the rest of the social media moral police not been up in arms and this, I promise you it wouldn't have gotten this much publicity. Y'all pushing it forward by talking about it so passionately.

Y'all making it a bigger deal than it ever would have been on it's own.

I've literally only ever heard the chorus to the song because I'm not going out of my way to listen to something I know I won't like. But there's been worse hit songs with worse content from both men and women. Hell one of the biggest rap songs of all time that was openly played on radio starts with "Thats why I fucked your bitch you fat motherfucker". If you gonna take an issue with topics about scamming or overtly sexual content then go at all of it not just the shit that you may not personally rock with. Because there's far worse out there.

There was a lotta gay shit going on in 95, you just weren't paying attention to it.

At the bold...exactly. That song ain't about to take no woman who may be a college student and turn her into the next Love and Hip Hop prototype.

If something isn't a good look for the culture, should it be called out? or should it be ignored?

There was a lotta gay shit going on in 95, you just weren't paying attention to it.

Since it was a lot, this should be easy to do, because I don't remember it at all, but if you can drop 2 rap videos that has gay niggas in the video doing what you said Nas X had in his video from 1995.

I would watch old music videos and tv shows and movies from the 90s and 2000s and cringe on some of the shit that’s said now that I’m much older

It was a different time back then but I’m ok with most of that shit not being made nowadays
