Who's At Fault: The School Or The Parent?

no

well...if they didnt know he was the dad, then yea, but once he is able to show he's the dad, by law, they have to tell him

I've also had this happened to me as well

No because it's my child. They don't need either one of our permission to speak to the other about him.
Oh, I misread. I thought you were saying the test results were for your wife. As in she took the test. If it was the child, then yeah. You're right.

Lol I feel like that can get sued by just assuming everyone has it though. This is like spilling a hot drink on yourself at McDonald’s type lawsuit

Also doing an online link doesn’t seem secure unless the parent has to put in info. What’s stopping the kid from accessing it and “confirming” that the parent saw the report cards?

as the parent, you create the login

100% parent.

You have seen a report card in 4 years.

They get two a year that’s a total of 8

Isn’t that just assuming the kid doesn’t just set it up? What’s stopping them from taking steps to do it themselves and not show their parents?

That stuff is sent directly to the parents email normally. So unless your kid is hacking your email...you set it up

To be fair, class dojo is used less and less the older they get.

My son's highschool doesn't use it at all. I use it frequently to communicate with my daughter's teachers though.

Was the link stuff something from Covid that they just kept doing or was it before Covid? I know a lot of things changed for the virtual life and didn’t revert back afterwards

Yeah i figured for high school they didn't use it. But even then to go years without ever speaking to a teacher? Even for a good report they'll reach out to you.

My daughter school used this in elementary then switched to class tag

They use Google classroom now

Also idk of y'all have this...but here there's an app called Class Dojo where you can communicate directly with the teacher. So yeah no excuses
I didn't want to get into all that. But yeah, between Google Classroom, InfiniteCampus, etc, I'm CONSTANTLY being alerted about my kid's grades. Sometimes I sit and watch my phone as his French teacher grades a week worth of assignments and watch his grade go up and down. At this point, EVERY school district has a way that you can view your kids grades, likely even individual assignment grades, communicate with teachers, etc.

Ain't no excuse for the shit.

There are life circumstances that make it harder. Like having 3 kids and working 3 jobs, etc. But at the end f the day, you gotta stay on top of the shit. And even if you don't stay on top of it, AT LEAST once every couple months, you gotta get on there and make sure your kid is on track.

I wanna shoot this lady some bail, because I get that the shit can be overwhelming. But nah. She gotta tighten up.

And fuck the school.

Ma’am your son is a fucking idiot.. that’s all lol don’t blame the school for all that it starts at home. They can take some blame for it going as far as it did but you got blame yourself and your seed for what it is.

The school might be doing him a favor by keeping him in. This is one of the few situations that the school didnt fail him assuming he stays, and his mother gets serious about his education. But, looking at how shes taking it, she will make sure he graduates and society will likely hit him harder than school.

School and the system failed him but as a parent you need to stay on top of these kids be aware and present. Especially in these post covid times. Teachers and curriculums are not built like they used to be.

Didn’t watch the video but if he’s a senior then he doesn’t have a lot of time to fix it all since they kick you out at 20 or 21 in MD. Can’t remember
